About me
VOULA TRIANTAFYLLOPOULOU
I was born in Athens in the mid-70s, and most of my earliest memories revolve around hospitality, care, and gatherings. I remember the celebrations my mother organized every year to honor my father’s name day, bringing together relatives and friends. Over fifty people would gather at our house, wishing him well. My mother would spend days preparing food and sweets, setting tables with fine tableware, and arranging extra chairs so everyone could sit comfortably.
I recall Easter and summer holidays at my grandparents’ place, where all the houses were open at all hours. My father was one of ten siblings, my mother one of three, and I had countless first cousins. One cherished memory is of my great-aunt slowly stirring a massive copper pot filled with chicken soup and egg-lemon sauce, while her sister carefully soaked a tin of hot sponge cake, its bright yellow color from fresh village eggs. All of us gathered around a large table — uncles, cousins — to eat, raise our glasses, shout, laugh, and celebrate.
Our house was also almost always full of relatives from the village who came to the capital on business.
Then came my years studying hospitality, when I learned the science behind it…
I fell even more in love with the industry…
and just like that, after being in several hotels, a marriage and three children, I decided to create IKIES 3 and accommodate all my great loves: where I could bring together my passion for hospitality, my love for architecture and design, and, hopefully, share these passions with you.
